Horsetail Falls

We live just a couple minutes away from tons of beautiful trails.  People come from all over to hike and mountain bike, so, when we get the chance we love to take advantage of the great opportunities right in our backyard.  This time we decided on a hike up to Horsetail Falls.

This log bridge added the right amount of adventure for our crew.

Everybody did great!  This hike isn't too long but gets a little tricky in some places but that didn't slow anybody down.

 We made it!

 The WHOLE bunch of us!

On the Lake (Bull Lake, MT)

Bull Lake, MT was the perfect place for our family vacation this summer.  Although the drive felt like it took forever, after we all got there we could see it was going to be just right for our BIG group.

The cabin was only separated from the lake by a grassy field, perfect for steal the flag and football.
But thanks to Kathy's "cruiser" we were only a short bike ride (or walk) from the beauty of the water.

We had everything that we needed to keep the kids busy.  There were sand toys, paddle boats and sit-on-top kayaks.  Between the toys and the skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding and tubing we could have stayed at the lake the whole week.  But Montana had plenty of other attractions (more on that in another post) to vie for our attention.

It was a beautiful setting for spending time with some of our favorite people: Grandpa, Grandma. aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins and more cousins!

More "on land" fun coming next!

Welcome to Bull Lake, MT

Did you know there is a little slice of heaven nestled into the mountains of northern Montana?

Gorgeous.

Coming up... Fun on the lake.

Hello There.

This is a view that I could get used to.

Last Goodbyes

Oh gosh.  It's been so hard to say goodbye to this house, harder than I ever imagined that it would be (and I imagined it would be pretty hard).  At some point I should dig out the pictures that I took when we first bought this home.  It looks like a different house.  But not today.

Today, I just want remember this home the way we left it, the way we loved it.

Every room, every hallway, every closet has a story to tell.  Our story.

Clearly, I'm feeling sentimental.  Indulge me.

Our new yard has one tulip in it.  ONE.  (sniff.)

Don't worry though, I know what to do about that.

So long, Islandcreek Drive.

You have been so good to us.
