Family Photo Contest

Before reading any further there are two things that you should know about my family:

#1 We cannot ignore a challenge

#2 We cannot ignore a caramel malt.

Knowing those things will help you understand what follows.

A little while ago all of my siblings and I got the following email from my dad:

Dear Family,
Are you all in for a challenge? Here it is.

Attached is the "best" of the family pictures that were taken. There are a few obvious problems that need to be remedied. Here's my list, which may not be all inclusive.

1. Get rid of my face and add Tyler's (or anyone else for that matter) in it's place
2. If my face stays at least the scab on my lip needs to disappear
2. There are several red eyes that need to have eye drops dripped into
3. The picture could use some color correction. With the possible exception of the Ruggs and the Houston Larrabees
4. There are some faint dots floating around the picture that shouldn't be there

Here's is the contest prize:

Five (5) Carmel Malts to the person or family that does the best job at the touch ups.
Love,
Dad

Here's a follow-up email from my brother:

We propose that part of the editing needs to include adding hair to those who used to have hair, get rid of Tate's moon boots and Mom's gold toe socks, and try somehow to reduce the shine on Jared's head(do they make something for that, please someone say yes!!)

Love Corey and Amber

So, the photo re-finishing contest was underway. My Dad put the bait out there in the form of caramel malts and our imaginations were tickled with the prospect of infusing some humor into the family picture.

Here's the Original Picture:

This is Jasen & Marci's Hawaiian-themed entry:

Jared & Kathy's entry had a more subdued feel to it:

Kedar & Kari's entry was an attempt to make every change requested by email:
Corey & Amber's entry took a more "traditional" approach to changing the pic:

So, all of the entries have been submitted and every member of the family waits with baited breath for my dad to make a decision about the winner. Days have past...weeks have past...months have past. Still we wait. I guess my dad is reluctant to declare an "official winner." He's tried the "you're all winners to me" approach and even made a batch of caramel malts to appease us, but no official decision.

I can't imagine why he's reluctant.
