When my mom came back into the kitchen, she saw what I had done and immediately started crying. She picked up the phone and cancelled the appointment for our pictures.
You know that saying, "What goes around comes around?" Well, for me, this saying has proven true.
About 4 years ago, when Conner and Ethan were 2 and 4, I found them in the basement with a pair of scissors that I hadn't realized that I had left out. They were giving each other haircuts in the bathroom. When I saw them I was so surprised that all I could say was, "You cut your brother's hair!"
The damage that they did was pretty significant. Parts of each of their scalps shone through their dark hair proudly. We ended up having to shave their heads bald.
This is Ethan after his brother cut his hair.
And here he is again as biker-Ethan.
Here's Conner after the damage was done.
And Conner being none to happy about his new 'do.
I thought that I had paid the price for my misdeed all those years ago, but this morning I found Aubrey in the bathroom with dark, little curls all around her and a pair of blue scissors in her hand. Again, all that I could say was, "You cut your hair," over and over again. Sometimes it came out, "You cut your hair," other times it was more like, " You cut your hair," but it was always those same whispered words, as tears welled up in my eyes.
Luckily, Aubrey's hair is pretty forgiving. Her curls do a good job of camouflaging the damage, but I'm unsure what to do from here. Should I...
a-take her in to get some layers cut into her hair to hide the shorter pieces?
or
b- just let it grow out?
I am sure of one thing though: I'm really sorry for cutting my own hair, back when I was three(ish).

Oh my goodness, I am soooo sorry!
On the other hand it is so cool that you have pictures from all of these tragic events. As sad as it is, it does make for a really great post. Something to show your children when their own kids follow down the same path.
I don't even know what to tell ya with Aubrey's but she will be cute whatever you decide to do. She is such a beautiful little girl.
I feel for you on this one! And I don't even think I ever cut my hair or anyone else's!! I think my sister cut mine, but...
Shelby SHAVED her hair off one side of her head. I forgot to put the hair cutting stuff away after doing the boys and she got to it and...yeah. If it means anything to you, I took her in and got it fixed. But her hair isn't naturally curly either.
Sorry!!
